Kenai Area Tours

One of the most famous waterways in the world, the Kenai River is the crown jewel of SUP paddling in Alaska! Its turquoise colored water, majestic Kenai Mountains and salmon so thick you can’t see the bottom will be a memory you will never forget! Choose from multiple tours for every ability on the river, a multi-day tour for the entire river or a flat-water beginnner tour or overnight on Kenai Lake. Swift Adventures has a tour for everyone to safely enjoy your stand up paddleboard experience.

We can also do overnight camping trips on Kenai Lake with three different sites along the lake to choose from, this can be a single overnight or up to three nights with plenty of time to paddle the entire length of the lake. All gear and food will be provided, please call us to book this adventure as it cannot be booked online.

Kenai Lake Tour

Not looking for a whitewater adventure? Never been on a SUP before? This is the perfect level 1 tour for you! You will spend two hours learning everything from how to put on a wetsuit or drysuit to SUP safety and basic paddling techniques while paddling around in beautiful Kenai Lake. We can start this tour at a few different locations on the lake depending on weather and client location. Contact us FMI or book now.

Kenai River Tour

Kenai River Intro To Whitewater SUP tour: This Level 2 tour offers some very good opportunities to hone your paddling skills on one of the most beautiful rivers in the world! The Kenai is very wide and deep enough to not worry about scraping bottom or hitting any rocks maiking it a great place to learn to paddle. We will start the tour off with a short class- style lecture of safety practices, paddling techniques and overview of how to read current . We will then put our skills on the river with about 6 miles of class I- II rapids with fun wave trains and splashy water perfect for a SUP. There is also a stop for an (optional) riverside lunch at Gwinns Roadhouse. None of the rapids on this section are mandatory and there are very easy ways around them if preferred , making this tour more comfortable for folks who don’t need a bigger rush! Directions to Put-in/Take-Out: This trip will meet at Princess rapids on the Sterling Highway.

Tour Times: Approx. 3-4 hours (depending if clients want a lunch stop at Gwins)

Kenai Advanced Whitewater Tour

For those of you who have their previous whitewater SUP skills this Level 3 trip should be added to your bucket list! (Please see section on Tour Difficulty Levels and Requirements).

This trip starts at Princess Rapids in Cooper Landing with a skills test and review of whitewater paddling skills with a class II rapid to play on. This will ensure our clients are capable and comfortable of navigating their way down river. This tour will focus on more difficult paddling techniques to increase their abilities in whitewater sections. The entire trip will be spent lapping rapids, catching eddies to surf waves and focusing on advanced paddling to increase confidence in any whitewater situation. Definitely our most exciting tour!

Directions to Put-In/Take-Out: Tour Times: Allow at least 4 hours
